FAQ for being a Member Association of IFAIMA

 

Q: My Association wants to be a Member of IFAIMA what should we do?

A: You must approve this decision inside your Association. Also, see next question.

Q: When we get our Association’s Approval what should we do next?

A: You must fill in the Application for Membership (follow the instructions in it), signed by an Officer of the Association, put your Seal on it and send it along with the following documents:

  1. Copy of your Association’s By-Laws
  2. Full list of your individual associates
  3. Resumed translation of your Association’s Objectives (only if the By-Laws are not in English)

Q: How much does my Association has to pay as an annual subscription on IFAIMA?

A: 5€ (five euros) multiplied by the number of affiliates of your Association.

A: The annual subscription will be paid when you apply and at the commencement of every financial year (month of June).

Q: My Country doesn’t have an AIM or COM Association what do you advise me to do?

A: We would advise you to try and form one Association yourself, along with your co-workers and then apply to IFAIMA as an Associate Association, this way you would have the right to vote on Assemblies and participate effectively on the decisions taken. If not, you may still be an Individual Associate.

FAQ for being an Individual Associate of IFAIMA

 

Q: May I be an Individual Associate of IFAIMA?

A: Yes, associate membership may be granted to individuals not in membership of affiliated Associations, but only with the endorsement of the member association of the country in question if existing. In the absence of such an association, the Executive Board would exercise the endorsement upon those who support the objects of IFAIMA.

FAQ for being a Corporate Member of IFAIMA

 

Q: My Organization is related to Aeronautical Information and Aeronautical Communications, can we be Associated to IFAIMA?

A: No, but IFAIMA will be empowered to invite your organization and/or individuals to become corporate members to assist in consideration of all technical matters in which IFAIMA may become involved and present technical papers for consideration of IFAIMA.

A: Fill in the Application for Membership (follow the instructions in it), signed by an Officer of your Organization, put your Seal on it and send it to ifaima.es@gmail.com.

Q: As a Corporate Member, may we participate in Assemblies?

A: Yes, you will be invited to attend meetings of the Assembly and other committees of IFAIMA as observers and speak on technical matters but you may not vote.

Q: Do we have to pay some amount of money to IFAIMA as Corporate Members?

A: Presently no, however this may change, the Assembly is empowered to determine the affiliation fees, annual subscriptions and charges to be paid to IFAIMA by the affiliated Associations, associate members and corporate members.

FAQ for participating on the General Assembly

 

Q: I want to participate on the General Assembly of IFAIMA. What should I do?

A: You should register yourself or your organization, sending an e-mail with your Name, Passport number, Phone, Country and Association/Organization, to ifaima.es@gmail.com.

If you are representing an Associate Association, you should fill your Credential, preferably send it by mail to ifaima.es@gmail.com or, have them delivered at the Reception Desk on the beginning of the Assembly.

Very important: The Credential will give you the right to vote. As an Association has the right to one vote, only one representative must fill this Credential.

If you are an Individual Associate or you are the second representative of your Association, you don’t need Credentials, your ID is enough.

Very important: Individual Associates don’t vote.

A: You should register your representative, sending an e-mail with his Name, Passport number, Phone, Country and Association/Organization, to ifaima.es@gmail.com. Also, you should fill your representative’s Credential, preferably send it by mail to ifaima.es@gmail.com or, have it delivered at the Reception Desk on the beginning of the Assembly.

Very important: The Credential will give your representative the right to one vote on behalf of your Association.

Q: I want to be a candidate to an Office on the Executive Board of IFAIMA, may I?

A: Yes, if you fill the following requirements:

- If you are a member of an Associate Association you should fill your candidate or candidates’ Credentials, preferably send them by mail to ifaima.es@gmail.com or, have them delivered at the Reception Desk on the beginning of the Assembly;

- If you are an Individual Associate, you just have to candidate by mail to ifaima.es@gmail.com.

Associations may have as many candidates they want and in all cases you may candidate to as many Offices you want, but each candidate can be elected to only one.

Q: Where are the Headquarters of IFAIMA?

A: Presently, IFAIMA’s Headquarters are located at the offices of the Portuguese Association of Aeronautical Information and Communications Technicians – APTICA, Rua Norte Júnior, 231 - 9º H, 1950-206 Lisboa, Portugal.

Q: What will IFAIMA offer to our AIM and COM careers?

A: IFAIMA represents the AIM and COM community, supporting all AIM and COM staff, we stand with them in most cases which could disturb their jobs, we intend to work with ICAO and states in matters such as staff licenses, improving work conditions, cooperate with the global organization, held meetings, seminars, conferences and training AIM and COM staff with the goal of standardization.
